Most well-managed firms have emergency preparedness plans that address potential risks to business continuity caused by earthquake, fire, flood, etc. Typically, these plans are focused on "protecting the data". However, as many facility and operations managers have seen, the reality of planning for and mitigating the impact of H1N1 and other bacterial and biological threats requires employee well-being to sustain the entire building ecosystem. The audience will learn fundamental strategies of a systems-approach to creating and maintaining healthy buildings. We will explore the intricacies of building systems that affect the processes, products, policies and behaviors we implement to maintain business continuity.
Learning Objective:
1. Learn how to recognize germ-related threats to the employee population
2. Understand how to build a plan to mitigate those threats
3. Be able to apply product, service and communications solutions to achieve sustained change
