The New LEED Guidelines for Green Building O&M: Sustainable Performance Simplified

Room Number:
Presenter(s): James L. Newman, CEM, LEED AP, Managing Partner
Newman Consulting Group, LLC

The new Reference Guide for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for Existing Buildings was recently published by the U.S. Green Building Council. It is now called the LEED Reference Guide for Green Building Operation and Maintenance. Full of ideas relative to energy conservation techniques, ideas for better indoor environmental quality, policies and procedures for operations and maintenance and almost everything else connected to your job, it could be one of the best resources you will ever use.

Jim Newman is a trainer for ASHRAE Energy Standard 90.1 and for LEED, a published author, and a speaker and seminar leader for all these issues. Jim has 7 LEED-certified buildings to his credit, ranging in certification level from Certified to Platinum, and close to a dozen more in various stages. This session will introduce you to these concepts and procedures using real-life examples, plus give you an abundance of web sites from which to gain additional information. You will also receive information about various tax incentives available from the Federal government as well as possible utility rebates.

When you leave this seminar, you won’t be able to wait to get back to work to put what you’ve learned into practice (after you’ve seen the rest of the convention and expo, of course). This pre-conference workshop is $99 if you register online prior to March 15, or $249 onsite.
