Senior Project Engineer,
Joseph J. Watson is working as a senior project engineer for CxAnalytics, LLC, a small, woman-owned business proving mechanical, electrical, and plumbing commissioning services. He is a Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) with over 30 years of experience in all facets of the building systems industry. He is a licensed, Professional Engineer, a LEED Accredited Professional, and was recently certified by ASHRAE as a Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP). A graduate of the prestigious Carnegie-Mellon University in Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Watson began his career as a Systems Sales Engineer with the Trane Company. After two years, he entered the consulting field as an HVAC system specialist performing energy conservation studies for SAIC in Washington, DC. He moved on to Buffalo, New York, working as a facility energy analyst with The Cannon Group. After earning his MBA, he was hired by Johnson Controls in Philadelphia to coordinate energy services projects. He then spent 10 years as a chiller plant optimization specialist with Tozour Trane in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania before leaving to form E3 Designs, a small energy consulting firm specializing in existing building retro-commissioning. He remained at E3 Designs until 2015, when he joined Cx Analytics as a senior project engineer. He is an active member of ASHRAE, and is a former chairman of TC 7.8 dealing with Building Owning and Operating Costs. Mr. Watson has been a featured speaker at numerous conferences and seminars including the NFMT annual conferences and has published many articles in industry publications.
