Achieving Zero Waste: Transitioning from the 3Rs to the 3Cs
The traditional recycling approach has been developing a program around the three R's of recycling - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. The desire to improve sustainability goals while striving for zero waste requires a much different approach from our experience. As we work with clients to either start a program or build on existing successes, we have coined the term "The 3Cs Approach to Zero Waste: Culture, Communication, and Collection." Each is an integral piece of the recycling puzzle and without one, your program will be faced with many challenges. This session will look at each piece and discuss how they are critical in the building of a successful recycling program, along with the sharing of some best practices.
