FMX Revisited: Smithsonian Institution
OFMR was selected for a 2010 FMXcellence award for the process used to develop its Strategic Plan. OFMR developed the plan using their internal staff to ensure it reflected preferred ways of communicating in the organization, the common challenges faced, and the Smithsonian's organizational culture. The process was engaging and resulted in a strong, vibrant Strategic Plan that was intended to be executed in five years. However, the entire plan – every tactic and activity - was actually executed, documented, reported on and measured in four years and six months.
