Improving Energy Efficiency in the City of D.C.: A Smart City Case Study

Energy efficiency has transformed from a topic of peripheral importance to a priority for government decision makers. The City of D.C., for example, pledged to cut gas emissions and energy consumption in half by 2032. To achieve these goals, the city is working to drive efficiency and improve performance in existing buildings. This presentation will detail how a cloud-based, intelligent energy management platform created an Internet of Things (IoT) solution for the city that has optimized heating and cooling functions, and achieved savings in public buildings, including hospitals, education facilities and commercial offices.

Learning Objectives:
1. Learn how predictive analytics can uncover opportunities for energy savings
2. Determine if your building is IoT-ready
3. See real-world energy savings results from the city of D.C.
