Lighting for Mood


From retail spaces to office buildings to medial facilities, architects and lighting professionals are increasingly innovating lighting approaches to reinforce brands, create specific physical and emotional responses from the occupants, and enhance the quality of interior environments. This visual-rich presentation will delve into techniques being employed by designers, corporations, and institutions to create specific moods and reactions while also providing safe, energy efficient lighting solutions.


1. Attendees will recognize how lighting has a direct correlation on the emotional responses that an occupant has to a space.
2. Attendees will recognize how lighting has a direct correlation on the physical responses that an occupant has to a space.
3. Attendees will explore how to incorporate lighting to enhance a marketing message or create a specific reaction from occupants in a space.
4. Attendees will learn how lighting can be designed to maintain safe and code-required levels while creating moods dictated by planned aesthetics of the project.
