Making Sense of Fire Sprinkler System Inspection, Testing and Maintenance Reports
Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) reports for fire sprinkler and other fire protection systems can sometimes be difficult to comprehend. NFPA 25, the Standard for Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems requires that, in addition to making the needed corrections and repairs, the owner/property manager maintains those records and reports. In this presentation, participants will be provided with an overview of those record-keeping requirements as well as what to look for on the records themselves to determine necessary maintenance.
1. Recognize the record-keeping requirements assigned to owners/property managers by NFPA 25
2. Identify and define common terms used on ITM reports
3. Develop priority-based correction and/or repair plans based on the information contained in the ITM reports
4. Determine if ITM reports prepared by contractors comply with NFPA 25
