T2.41

Protecting Your Facility from Power Failure

This session will provide an overview of the reasons for the increasing rate of utility power failures and the challenges facing facilities during power failures. Loss of electrical power has many implications: closing a facility for the duration, security issues, lost production, loss of perishable good, physical discomfort, etc. Many facilities are protected from costly power failures by emergency or back-up generator sets. The Electrical Generating Systems Association (EGSA) will present important information to facility managers that have invested in, or that are considering investing in an emergency generator set.

1. Understand reasons for the increasing incidents of utility power failures
2. Review the selection of emergency generator sets
3. Learn some important considerations regarding a generator set installation
4. Understand how EGSA’s educational programs can be a valuable resource for facility managers
