Total Cost of Ownership: Becoming Better Stewards of our Assets

The facilities and infrastructure industry has accepted new projects based on the first cost of the project. This has not served organizations well as owners get saddled with a facility they do not have the resources to operate or maintain. This creates an unsustainable long-term situation often leading to additional expense and premature failures. APPA as a standards development organization (SDO) is in the processes of developing a new ANSI standard, Part 1, Principles was delivered 2017, Part 2 Implementation is now under development. This session will provide an understanding of the standard and how it can be applied.
