WBDG.org: An Extensive Online Resource for Sustainable Design & Net Zero Buildings

With increasingly tighter standards to optimize energy and water consumption, as well as buildings trending toward net zero, there is a critical need for online resources that describe these technologies in understandable language and explain the value of integrated design to achieve the level of performance desired. The Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG.org) is that resource. Within WBDG, discussions can be found on a number of sustainable design strategies and renewable energy technologies, along with net zero buildings, building envelope design, smart controls, and living buildings. WBDG provides case studies and continuing education courses to further enhance knowledge of these topics.

1. Recognize the value of integrated design in achieving high performance buildings
2. Explore the many sustainable design resources found in WBDG
3. Understand the basics of net zero buildings
4. Summarize the renewable energy technologies within WBDG & discuss their potential applicability to your projects
