ASHRAE 90.1 2016 and IECC 2015: Understanding their Impact

This presentation will examine how energy codes develop and how they have evolved over the last 20 years. It will also focus on the positive impacts the energy codes and high performance buildings have had on the U.S. economy and how they have contributed to the reduction of carbon emissions. Gary will discuss how to interpret the energy codes and how these codes will have an impact on both new construction and existing renovation. Finally, it will explore the various options in implementing the codes and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the various options allowed.
