T4.11
Existing Building Commissioning for High-Performance Buildings

In today's economy and culture, more owners, facility managers and building operators are looking for ways to decrease utility and maintenance costs. However, their time ends up being spent trying to maintain and repair building systems that should be working properly but, over time, have deteriorated. The presentation will guide attendees through each phase of the existing building commissioning process based on BCxA Best Practices and other industry resources, and will show how this process can be implemented into a facility's annual routine in an effort to improve building maintenance and operation.

Learning Objectives:

1. Learn the existing building commissioning process and the systems involved.
2. Analyze how a building and its operations staff benefits from existing building commissioning.
3. Assess what documentation to expect and its usage.
4. Learn how to save energy and money through the optimization of their existing building infrastructure systems.
