Why Today's Design, Controls and Commission Construction Process Delivers Inefficient Buildings

In this session you'll learn why most new buildings run inefficiently, wasting energy and maintenance labor. A case study will show how each of the three main players--design engineers, control contractors and commissioning authorities--contribute to this situation. The presenter will show why today's purchasing process is a main culprit in inefficient buildings, and participants will also learn how ASHRAE 36-P can be used to operate buildings more efficiently.

Learning Objectives:

1. Learn why new buildings are not efficient buildings
2. Analyze why the commissioning process can readily miss operational deficiencies
3. Review the complexities a creating good quality building automation
4. Understand why ASHRAE 36 P is essential to good building operations
