Change Management in Facilities Management

Facility managers find themselves involved in leading projects that involve significant levels of change. As the FM field continues to grow, these aspects of change will become more prevalent. The likelihood that these changes will be met with some form of opposition is highly probable. When changes occur to the physical space of individuals, this only heightens the sensitivity as it will induce disruptions to their daily routine which drives stress and frustration. If these changes are not properly managed, the result can be lost productivity, poor morale and a high level of complaints which causes distractions for management.

Learning Objectives:

1. Understanding the need for effective change management practices
2. Identification of common pitfalls when change occurs
3. Critical interventions for large-scale change
