IoT Solutions For Commercial Buildings, Lighting and Beyond

The internet of things (IoT) is ushering in new technologies to optimize energy efficiency, reduce operating cost, and improve occupant comfort in commercial buildings. Lighting is at an inflection point - the focus has shifted from being a commodity that provides basic illumination to a valuable resource that can offer human centric lighting (HCL) to improve productivity, analytics for better utilization and stream real time data to enable new applications such as wayfinding. With the advent of wireless controls, embedded sensors, and cloud software, vendors have the capability to offer lighting solutions integrated with HVAC (BMS) controls that make buildings safer, smarter, and more productive. This greatly simplifies the way commercial buildings are managed, monitored and operated. This presentation will review key IoT applications for commercial buildings and will highlight services that will pave the way for buildings of the future.
