The IoT of Lighting - Digital and Wireless Lighting

The Internet of Things (IoT) impacts aspects of our personal and work environments. In the home, office or even our cars, we are becoming connected to the internet by our computers, smartphones and wearable devices. Lighting is no exception with products that are connected and part of the IoT. This presentation will highlight capabilities of wireless and digital connected and cloud based lighting, including the use of lighting as a communication medium. Venerability of networks to hacking, via wireless lighting systems and security aspects are will be discussed. Design requirements for installations using wireless and digital lighting that provide the performance, function and security required are detailed.

2. Discuss the advantages of controlling lighting using WIFI and other wireless protocols, including the evolving use of lighting as a communication medium (LIFI)
