NFMT Baltimore & Clean Buildings Expo Shows Have Been Rescheduled
The National Facilities Management and Technology (NFMT) Conference and Expo and Clean Buildings Expo (CBE) show management team wishes to express our deepest concerns for everyone impacted by the COVID-19 coronavirus. We have monitored the situation closely, and due to recent developments and facts, the NFMT and CBE shows scheduled for March 17-19 in Baltimore have been rescheduled. NFMT will now take place August 11-13 and CBE will take place August 11-12 at the Baltimore Convention Center.
We thank our attendees, exhibitors, and speakers for entrusting us to make the best decision supported by facts. Yesterday, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced that he has cancelled all out-of-state travel for all state employees and advised all state agencies to prepare all employees for telework in order to stop the spread of the COVID-19 disease. Hogan signed this emergency legislation into law on Day 5 of Maryland's coronavirus state of emergency.
"Our top priority is to serve and support our attendees and exhibitors—and protecting their health and safety is of paramount importance," said Jill McDermott, chief sales officer at Trade Press Media Group, which owns and co-owns NFMT and CBE, respectively. "We take pride in offering valuable educational opportunities, networking, and access to new products and technologies for facilities and cleaning professionals who trust NFMT and CBE to deliver on their high standards. We are excited to welcome our community to the rescheduled shows in August."
Attendee registrations and exhibitor booths will automatically transfer to the new August 11-13 show dates. Additionally, NFMT and ISSA pre- and post-event workshops will move to coincide with the August dates.
In a normal week, all of us, exhibitors, attendees and show management, would be packing up and heading to Baltimore this weekend for the NFMT and Clean Buildings Expo.
To say the least, this has been anything but a normal week.
Faced with unprecedented challenges related to COVID-19, our team has been working hard to ensure that the rescheduled NFMT 2020 and the Clean Buildings Expo meets or exceeds your expectations. Here's a few of the steps we've taken since rescheduling our events on Wednesday morning.
- Wednesday afternoon an email notification was sent to all attendees and speakers
- Thursday morning a follow up notification was sent to all non-openers of the Wednesday email
- Thursday afternoon personal calls were made to thousands of registered guests.
- All presenters were contacted via phone. More than 80% indicated that they will be participating in the August event.
- Updates have been posted daily on the NFMT website
- Personal calls, texts and follow up emails have been sent to all exhibitors
- We are working with Freeman to determine how to handle warehouse freight. We will update all exhibitors as soon as we have information.
The bottom line to date: Thousands of facilities and cleaning professionals, most presenters and hundreds of exhibiting companies have confirmed their participation in the rescheduled NFMT and Clean Buildings Expo. We expect both shows to be valuable to both the facilities and cleaning professionals attending and the industry suppliers exhibiting.
Thank you for the trust and support you have in us during this dynamic time. We look forward to welcoming you to NFMT and the Clean Buildings Expo on August 11.
