NFMT 2020 Session

Retro Commisioning and Air Balancing - Why? It Can Save You Money and Reduce Your Service Life Cost

View All Sessions

About this session:

In running facilities we have service calls from our end users such as hot and cold calls and high humidity, and from our CFO as to why our utility bills are so high. Retro commissioning and balancing can be ways of reducing operating costs as well as service life cost. We will attempt to show by examples and excerpts from actual field problems. In presenting the expenditure of this type of capital what do I really get from it, and do I implement it?

1. Learn the difference between commissioning and balancing and why they go hand in hand.
2. Review exposure to the codes and standards that govern commissioning and balancing and what trade does what action.
3. Label how we identify, quantify and document the improvements gained during both commissioning and balancing.
4. Learn how to develop a ongoing commissioning and air balance plan to control operation and service life costs.
