Managing Refrigerant Transitions: R-22 and Beyond

Freon® 22, the workhorse refrigerant for systems ranging from industrial chillers to residential air conditioners, is going away. Only three cooling seasons remain before virgin R-22 production for use in the United States HVACR industry ceases. It is vital that facilities managers be up to date on options for managing their transition out of R-22. This presentation will provide an update on the latest regulations impacting R-22 and other HFC refrigerants used in facilities across the country. Special emphasis will placed on non-ozone depleting and low global warming potential refrigerant options for keeping existing equipment operational and avoiding business disruption.

Learning Objectives:

1. Learn about non-ozone depleting & low global warming potential refrigerants
2. Learn key aspects of a refrigerant management plan
3. Learn important performance characteristics of R-22 replacements
4. Gain a clear understanding of current and future regulations impacting their facilities
