The Future of BACnet Networking Topologies

Do you experience a lot of network issues with your Building Automation System?  What if your Building Automation System (BAS) network was designed for laptop usage and not automation equipment?  It is really important to understand your BACnet network requirements to ensure all of your systems run as designed, reduce downtime, and eliminate finger pointing between BAS vendors and information technology (IT) departments.  Having a better understating of the BACnet protocol and network topologies will allow for effective communication, troubleshooting, and implementation of new networks and retrofits.  This presentation will discuss the history of the BACnet protocol, network gear, topologies, and the future of BACnet networks.  Let’s bridge the gap between BAS and IT to make sure we get the most out of our investments!

Learning Objectives:

1. History of the BACnet protocol, BAS and IT network gear and topologies
2. Differentiating between IT and BAS network requirements
3.  Types of BAS network topologies
4.  The future of BACnet networking topologies
